Each Summer, the Catawba Rhododendron blooms crown the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina with beautiful pink blossoms that resemble peonies. There is a short window in early June when they peak  and share their glory with other exquisite wildflowers. As a photographer and admirer of nature I enjoy exploring the scenic landscape, especially during this magical time of the year. 
 

Blue Ridge Bloom embodies my interpretation of an unforgettable moment captured. It illustrates a summer storm rolling through the valley with dramatic clouds and a perfect balance of shadows and highlights showcasing the mountain ridges. The rhododendron blooms glisten in the foreground from rain drops remaining on their petals from the passing storm, and the deep green foliage serves as a beautiful contrast to the dark blue sky. It doesn’t get more perfect than this! 

The spiritual inspiration that comes from nature is a gift like no other. It is everlasting. I hope this scene gives you a peaceful feeling and a desire to look forward to the possibilities that come with each season in nature and life.
