Autumn seems to last forever in the Appalachian Mountains. There are so many elevations where you can enjoy stunning fall colors throughout the season. On this particular day, I was enjoying a beautiful drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, taking in the sights of the Blue Ridge Mountains saturated in colors of burnt orange, crimson red, and cadmium yellow.

I especially like how the scattered light breaks through the heavy cloud cover, displaying the beautiful palette of colors below, with one opening in the clouds, revealing the heavenly blue sky. It was as if our Creator, the ultimate Artist, had just completed His masterpiece.
